The Answer Is “Thank You”

What does one say in a short missive about working for more than a dozen years with talented teachers from Alberta and the Commonwealth of Dominica? How does one share the personal experiences of working with wonderful people in a country as beautiful as Dominica? How does one elucidate the kind of enthusiasm shared by teachers as they return from weeks of volunteer teaching? How do I communicate the honour of working with caring educators in my role as lead for this project?

I don’t know how to answer these questions. I can only say “thank you.” Thank you to the Alberta Teachers’ Association for its ongoing support of this education project. Thank you to the volunteer teachers who spend hours preparing, teaching and communicating with other caring teachers each year. Thank you to the teachers and educators in Dominica.

In an era where global reach through technology and travel is affecting the nature of society, the nature of our children and the nature of our educational systems, educators in northern climes are fortunate to learn from and share with their friends and colleagues in Dominica.
